Women's Place

Womansplace is a full service agency that provides a complete continuum of care for women and their children whose lives have been shattered by domestic violence. We provide a high quality services such as shelter, options counseling, employment training, transitional housing, children's advocacy and legal advocacy.

At Womansplace, we recognize that the needs of those we serve are many and varied. In an effort to expand our service provision we have looked to partnering with other community agencies to provide drug and alcohol counseling through the McKeesport Healthier Communities PartnerSHIP, Auberle and Mon Yough Community Services.

We have created employment opportunities for our clients by joining with Bethlehem Haven's Project Employ and greater access to the courts with the support of Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala and our Emergency Protection From Abuse electronic court order system in UPMC McKeesport, UPMC Braddock and Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Womansplace recognizes the need to not only support those who have found themselves victims of domestic violence, but to dedicate genuine efforts to stop domestic violence in our communities. To that end, we are proud to have developed a new partnership with the Consortium for Public Education and bring Expect Respect, a teen dating violence program to six of our local school districts. Expect Respect brings awareness, prevention education and counseling to our students. If we are serious about ending domestic violence; what better place to start?
